AHS Colt GuardHard work, long hours and dedication are the mainstay of the Colt Guard. Frequently, members are found practicing extra hours to incorporate their athletic and choreographed movements to work more effectively with the precision formations and music played by their fellow band members.    In the winter, a semester is devoted by members of the guard to Winterguard competitions and practices.
The AHS Colt Guard is comprised of students that may or may not play an instrument in the band, but an AHS Colt Band member is defined as any active musician or guard student. Therefore, active guard students are members of the AHS Colt Band, regardless of whether or not they play an instrument.
All AHS Colt Band members (musician or guard) have equal privileges (such as scholarships) and responsibilities (such as fundraising activities).

The ColorGuard and Daughtry

Thanksgiving 2009, several members of the Colt Guard joined over 200 other guard members from colleges and schools across the metroplex to put on the halftime show for the Dallas Cowboys with Daughtry as he promoted this year’s Salvation Army campaign.
Congratulations ladies and gentlemen on a great job and for giving up over 30 hours of your holiday week to help others!
